ABOUT

I am a professional photographer based in Wiltshire, UK.

I joined the Royal Air Force aged 15 and served for 15 years. During this time I developed both my love of sport and my passion for photography. After leaving military service I worked for an International Telecommunications company which enabled me to live and work in many countries around the world thereby fostering my love of people, travel and different cultures and subsequently to become a professional freelance photographer.

In parallel with my day job I pursued my interests in photography and in the sports of Triathlon, Duathlon, Cycling and Running where I have proudly represented Great Britain in both European and World Duathlon Championships.

I developed a strong interest in documentary journalism and environmental portraiture and, in particular, love to create images of people that they are proud to display.

I have covered numerous events in the UK as a photojournalist; these range from political protests to Gay Pride events, from Triathlon Races to religious parades and from festivals in the UK to fiestas and religious parades in mainly in Spain but I have covered other countries.

My photojournalism has brought me some success: I won first prize in a major competition, I have been published in magazines, I have been published in both National and local newspapers (including front page) and my images have been used in countless web sites.

I also received a Highly Commended from the Picture Editors Guild for Citizen Photographer of the Year 2011 of which I am very proud.

I also like to commit some of my time and photography to work for various charitable causes with my main charities being HELP FOR HEROES and TEAMTRUESPIRIT. My most recent project was over a 2 year period and was to document the pain and suffering of the families of the servicemen and women who were repatriated through Royal Wootton Bassett. It was both heart breaking and heart warming when I was I thanked by the families and friends for my sensitive portraits. It also led to me publishing a successful limited edition book covering the repatriations which raised over £500 for HELP FOR HEROES.

All of my images are available for sale so if you are interested or even just want to contact me for any reason, please feel free.
