First night of The Bristol Summer Series Music Festival. Raleigh Ritchie was the support act for George Ezra.
Sunday night there were three support acts but in my mind the only one worth mentioning was The Tide. They were brilliant and in my mind just as good as the headline act The Vamps.
Both were excellent and I could not choose between the two who were the best.
Tom Odell at Westonbirt.
Liam Bailey, was the support act for Paloma Faith a Westonbirt. Despite suffering from Hay Fever be put on a really good performance.
Well I have not posted on here for quite a while. Problem is I have been really busy. I spent a few days at The Wychwood Music Festival in Cheltenham which was really really good. On the Sunday I ran the Brecon off road half marathon which turned out to be 16 miles. It was really enjoyable however and I came 4th so pretty pleased with myself.
I then spent three days at Westonbirt music events, then 3 days in Bristol at Summer Session music festival. I was also trying to train hard as well as all this as I have my big challenge in July and want to do well at that.
So here are the first set of images. Paloma Faith at Westonbirt.
She was of course brilliant.
Well, Friday was spent at the first day of Fairford RIAT 2014. Despite it being a cloudy day I still managed to get sunburnt and the clouds were high enough to not affect any of the flying displays. It was a nice day but exhausting and was pretty tired by the end of the day. The Red Arrows of course were the star attraction of the day as the F-35 was cancelled due to engine problems back in the USA. I managed to take 600 images so this is a very very very small selection of the day.
And as I understand it the good people of Swindon got a really good view of the Red Arrows as they flew over a couple of times, nice.
Friday 4th June was day 1 of the Cornbury Music Festival and I was there. It was a really nice day apart from the rain at the end which managed to find it’s way into one of my cameras which started to error but it was the last set so I got lucky really. The performers were great and didnt not enjoy shooting any one of them. For anybody who may not recognize any or some of them they are, Dan Gillespie Sells of The Feeling, Mel C formely Sporty Spice, Sophie Ellis-Bexter, Jools Holland, Marc Almond, Suzanne Vega, Arrested Development, Hudson Taylor and The Lottery Winners.
A fun day out, loads of banter with the other photographers but also some interesting serious discussions about how little or no money that people are earning!!!!
Another long day at Wychwood Music Festival and only a small selection of the many images I took on the final day, mainly because I need to rush off to the airport for a flight to Spain, (no sleep for me tonight I am afraid).
Amongst others on day three were Bob Geldoff and The Boomtown Rats, Lee Thompson’s Ska Orchestra, Gentleman’s Dub Club, Sadie and The Hotheads and Gabby Young and Other Animals.
All in all a very good festival, very friendly, very relaxed, staff were just great really helpful and I will definitely go again.
Newton Faulkner another great artist and character at Wychwood Festival very impressed and a real crowd puller.
Swindon band Newquay Times was not only the second band to take to the main stage at the Wychwood Music Festival but they were the second Swindon band.
Swindon leads the way with music yet again.
