Dame Trot meets Swindon Rugby Club

This lunchtime I did a photo shoot at the Wyvern Theatre, Dame Trot and Swindon Rugby Club. Two members of the Rugby Club met Dame Trot and presented her with a copy of their calendar. Dame Trot (David Ashley) was an absolute star and I laughed from start to finish. After their initial ‘shyness’ the rugby players got into the Panto spirit and played along with it all. The calendar was produced by Swindon Rugby Club to raise money for the Baby Unit Charity at GWH.

I have said this a thousand times but if you have not seen Jack and the Beanstalk at the Wyvern yet you must go. It is getting rave reviews, that aside it is just such a laugh.

Keith Chegwin meets 2 Jacks and 2 Dames in Swindon

This lunchtime I did a photo shoot at the Swindon Wyvern Theatre with Keith Chegwin who is playing Silly Billy, Jack and Dame Trot from the Swindon cast and Jack and Dame Trot from the Stroud company who are also performing Jack and the Beanstalk. It was so much fun and I really enjoyed it. The cast from Swindon made me feel really at home and as though they had known me all their life, it was a real pleasure to work with them.

I love my job.

Fleshcreep Simon Wegrzyn meets Swindon at Old Town Lights Switch On

Last night was the Switch On of the Christmas Lights in Swindon Old Town. I had a lot of fun photographing Simon Wegryzn who plays Fleshcreep in this years Panto Jack and the Beanstalk at The Wyvern Theatre. Not only was he a really nice guy he was so easy to direct and was really happy to do anything I asked of him. I am really looking forward to seeing him and the rest of the cast at the Panto over Christmas.

Swindon Wyvern Theatre Family Fun day

It was a fun morning on saturday 2nd November at The Swindon Wyvern Theatre Family Fun Day. It was absolutely packed right from the word go people were queueing up outside to get in, till right at the very end when it was almost a case of asking people to leave so that the place could be cleared up. It also took place at Swindon Central Library, Swindon Dance and live music was being played at the bandstand.

My personal favourite was Mr Gruffalo and my two new friends Arri and Alexia two really adorable parrots who belong to Darren Potter the film cameraman.

Definitely worth going to the next time they put an event like this on, and of course it is completely free.

Well done to Richard Loftus and the team at The Wyvern.

Mousetrap at The Rat Trap, Swindon

Todays photo shoot was with the cast of the long running Agatha Christie play The Mousetrap which is due to play at The Wyvern Theatre Swindon next February. Where else could it take place but at The Rat Trap Pub in Stratton. And of course a nice bunch of people they were as well.

It was very very sunny outside and so made shooting outside not as easy as it could have been (and it was cold). Inside of course was no problem. I also used my Nikon d800 for the first time. Can anybody see the difference between the two cameras, which shots are on which camera??

Another enjoyable few hours I reckon.

Wyvern Theatre Charity Canal Clearance Day

I spent a fun and funny couple of hours with the team from The Wyvern Theatre at their charity clean up day (not the first time they have done it) at the Wilts and Berks Canal at Shrivenham. Was an overcast but warm day and they soon worked up a good sweat and got very tangled up in all the undergrowth. They all enjoyed it though and it was all for charity.

Keith Chegwin and Jack and the Beanstalk Down on the Fram

Yesterday I had the pleasure of taking part in the photo call for the Jack and the Beanstalk Panto which is being performed at the Wyvern Theatre at Christmas. It took place at Roves farm on a very hot day. The cast, Keith Chegwin, Jennifer Greenwood, Samuel Parker and David Ashley seemed to really enjoy themselves feeding and stroking the animals. But I have to say the star of the day was Annie, the 20 year old cow that was used as a prop. Was a lovely gentle creature and she did everything we asked. Including posing with the panto cow which was just soooo funny, the guys in the suit were quite nervous at first, as was everybody really but she won everybody over and after a while everybody wanted to stroke, pat or scratch her. A star in the making I think.

I took 550 images so this really is just a random selection of the shoot.

BEST OF SWINDON CONCERT

Last night I was at The Best of Swindon concert at the Oasis. It was a concert put on to showcase and celebrate the wealth of musical talent in or from Swindon. And what a wealth of talent. Each and every act was excellent.
Now I dont want to use the phrase ‘the star of the show’ because they were all stars but the concert bill was headed by Jahmene Douglas. Have to say he was really good, especially when he sang with his church gospel choir.
It was also very nice as it felt very much a small, local concert as the acts ended up waving and chatting with members of the audience who they knew or perhaps went to school with etc.

The other artists were Theo Alteiri, Josh Kumra, Queen of Hearts and Colour the Atlas, all very very good.

Altogether a very good night. Well done guys.

Matt Fiddes meets Michael Jackson Tribute in Swindon

Yesterday I had the most fun photoshoot.

I met up with Matt Fiddes and his lovely wife Monique Fiddes Foxx and Ben the Michael Jackson Tribute act. Firstly it was uncanny how much Ben looked like Michael Jackson, his moves and mannerisms were perfect and he sang a few lines and wow, sounded like MJ as well. It was also fascinating meeting Matt and Monique. Matt is a former friend and bodyguard of the real Michael Jackson for many years and knew him well. Matt a Martial Artist and successful business man comes from Swindon and went to Greendown school here. It was interesting to watch the dynamics between Matt and Ben as they talked about Michael. Matt also brought along and allowed Ben to use the hat that Jackson used in the video Smooth Criminal, signed and presented to Matt.

Monique Fiddes Foxx is a singer and presenter superstar from South Africa and presently has a number one single there. In South Africa she gets mobbed everywhere she goes so it must have been really nice for her to have a low key photoshoot.

I have to say what lovely lovely people they are. They are so friendly and they made me feel very relaxed which allowed me to do my job and importantly for me to really enjoy it.

Jackson in Concert http://www.michaeljacksonuk.com will be showing at Swindon Wyvern Theatre http://www.wyverntheatre.org.uk on the 23rd June. It promises to be a sell out and I would defy anybody not to be up and dancing for some or all of the show.

Another go see in my opinion.

Beverley Callard and Little Voice at the Wyvern Theatre

Last night was the opening night of The Rise and Fall of Little Voice at the Wyvern Theatre in Swindon.
What a good night it was as well. All of the cast were excellent, especially Beverley Callard, Jess Robinson, Ray Quinn and Duggie Brown. For me it was great as having photographed and chatted with them I still found it strange that there they were on stage and everybody loving them. Jess Robinson as Little Voice was sensational.

Another must see at the Wyvern Theatre I reckon.
